Well, he didn't necessarily dehumanize them. He called them trash. He called them human trash, in fact.
I, probably more than most, understand that there is something completely missing in these people. I honestly do not believe it is a choice to become what these people become. Sure, they could try to control it, but I do find it implausible to expect people to reject their base nature. No, it does not excuse them. I guess what I am saying is that they are not less human than we are. However, it is quite natural for a person to reject them as human beings. It is damn hard to look at what people are capable of. Separating oneself from that is quite natural.
