Fun fact: when I was at Columbia College Chicago, one of my Fiction Writing classes required us to write a parody of one of three stories: "Bartleby" by Melville, "The Nose" by Gogol, and "The Metamorphosis" by Kafka. I chose "The Nose." In my parody, a retired porn star lost his penis. At one point, he met back up with the penis, and the penis avoids talking to its former owner by insisting that he has a meeting with Kanye West. I didn't explain it in the story, but I always thought it would be fitting that a dick would be meeting with an ass.
