The best part in that is the bit about cats. Straight up window to the soul.
I can actually see how a person who thinks that cats don't need to hunt bugs, and who very much wants to get some homosexual action despite his hateful religious indoctrination, would arrive at opinions like these. Just like a cat, a persons compulsions to put certain things in their mouth can be out of place in their context. A warm living room for the cat, a hostile society for winter.
The "naturalness" of either isn't really in question - and we don't see winter calling cats unnatural. I think this line has more to do with the intended audience than genuine belief. Winter knows that huntings bus is as natural for a cat as his own sexuality is for him. It's just that..to some minds..calling something "unnatural" would have more play with a group like us. Theists often believe that atheists have replaced god with nature, and so, their own sexual insecurities and bigoted cultures can be laundered through the prism of psuedo darwinism.
The only real question is what we should do about the scourge of bug eating cats? Beat them? Or maybe throw them off roofs? Is there some chemical therapy we could use to correct them?
