How many people die in mall shootings per year in the US? How many people get struck by lightning twice? How many get struck by lightning thrice? How many Floridians get bit by sharks per year?
The issue is, you made it about the mall, and you selfishly and anecdotaly (something we should be above at he forum) made your argument about your own family getting bit by sharks (rare like mall shootings) and you made claims about no one being safe in a mall. If you had left out the mall part and you just wanted to talk about guns, you'd be fine. But instead, now you just sound like someone who's shown up to the beach and is yelling at the top of their lungs, "close to beach, I have an intuition that a shark may be on its way."
My comment was that it was too close for comfort for me. YMMV
