How many of you out there are fans of horror stories/fiction? As long as I can remember, I've always loved horror movies, stories, monsters, Halloween, and the occult. Anything/everything that is considered dark, forbidden, macabre, heretical, or off limits from "normal" people has interested me, hence the nickname my wife gave me several decades ago.
I've accumulated a small library of horror fiction, the history of Witchcraft, Satanism, and Halloween, along with Norse history since I was in high school(a really long time ago). I've read just about everything written by Poe, HP Lovecraft, Brian Lumley, and Charles L Grant. If I had to pick a favorite, it's probably Lovecraft. I started collecting his stuff when I was in high school and college.
Several books in my collection are over 40 years old. I also have collected a series of books published by DAW titled "the Year's Best Horror Stories" that was published from 1971 until 1994. I've managed to find every book in the series except for volume II, I never did find it.
I've been reading Darcy Coates' stuff lately, I'm finishing my 4th book of hers before I start her Grave Keeper trilogy. I don't ever see myself not reading horror fiction, it's been in my blood for far too long. Anyone else?
