Back when I was working for a living (and most of my ancestors didn't live past 58), I never expected to live past that. I expected to be found slumped over my desk. When the situation presented itself at age 62, I took it. I'm convinced that if I had worked until my Social Security "full award" age of 65, that I'd be dead soon after. Retiring at 62 was the best thing I ever did. At 70 years old, I'm even more convinced.
