What do you think atheism is that it is capable of being true or false? Atheism is a description of a state of belief, which can be accurate or inaccurate.

I think you are suggesting that the proposition that gods do not exist is true or false, which is related but not the same thing. And from there you are conflating it with the proposition that certain gods do or do not exist.

Please define the god that you think the majority of the world population believes exists.
