The development of the structures which will eventually become a functioning, pumping heart takes a long time, well beyond the First Trimester,
and constantly change in the pregnancy before it's matured into a mature cardiac system, capable of supporting the fetus which actually does not really function as a human heart
until the umbilical circulation is detached at birth. The "pumping heart" issue is a lie, and total falsehood as religionist attempt to foist their own personal

Anyone who has taken grade school beginning biology knows this. A fair number of hearts form with congenital anomalies and require surgery, emergently or somewhat soon after birth,

A fetus is not a "baby". A baby is a developed fetus which has been born.
Religionists and others use the "baby" word in an attempt to introduce emotional language to prematurely preempt the discussion.
Who would want to harm a baby ?
A fetus is a potential baby, not an actual baby.
Apparently Aquinas' discussions about potentiality and actuality did not sink in here. It does not, early in the pregnancy even have a neural tube, from which the brain develops.
Religionists use this sort of ignorant dishonest emotional language in an attempt to falsely stake out the moral high-ground.
