360 MN Poor Christians being persecuted in the world today, Deese, including in North Korea, India, Nigeria and elsewhere. Will you do anything to help? Will you at least condemn the Violence against us poor Christians? Here is the source: "North Korea first in the list. According to the data reported, more than 360 million Christians suffer high levels of persecution and discrimination for their faith. Similar numbers were recorded last year. However, the score of the indicators in the fifty countries at risk is growing." https://www.vaticannews.va/en/church/new...world.html
Now, as for Catholic Church, Education and Charity: "Catholic spiritual teaching includes spreading the Gospel, while Catholic social teaching emphasises support for the sick, the poor and the afflicted through the corporal and spiritual works of mercy. The Catholic Church is the largest non-governmental provider of education and medical services in the world.[1]" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catholic_charities
Also, God did not support any Genocide. Careless lay and unprepared readers should not read the OT, otherwise they may gain a wrong understanding of difficult subjects. Read the Gospels and the Epistles of the Apostles first and master the doctrine taught in them. You will see over and over that the Law of Christ is Love and His Gospel is Peace. And as for War, it's the clear teaching of Christ and His Church, of St. Augustine and St. Thomas, that Just War can only be waged when your enemy has done everything possible to destroy you violently and all other means to put an end to the conflict non-violently have failed. Mr. Obama mentioned Just War Theory when he got his Nobel Prize, but he failed to mention its Christian roots in the teaching of St. Augustine and St. Thomas. Modern Catholic Theologians, e.g. in the CCC, have developed it further.

The Papacy has been the right side of virtually every War of the Last Century. It condemned World War I as "the suicide of civilized Europe". It condemned the Nazis and worked to save Jews during World War II, as Pinchase Lapide has documented in Three Popes and the Jews: 860,000 Jewish lives saved, he calculated. It rightly fought the godless Atheistic Communist Evil Empire. But it condemned the Iraq War. If only President Bush had listened to Pope St. John Paul II when the Roman Pontiff told him not to invade Iraq. He condemned it even in public as an Unjust War but reportedly more strongly in private. As for Soldiers killing Al Qaeda or ISIS terrorists, that manifestly falls under Just War. Ukraine is an Unjust War. And Syria was one too.
