PSA: I don't say "stupid goatherders". Some of them probably made up very entertaining stories which are still told, somewhat modified, today. The problem with religion is that it seems to be aimed at the lowest IQ in the mob. If the religion takes off many will follow it as a default choice or to avoid being burning the stake, with or without a bag of gunpowder around their neck. So bad goatherder stories get dumped in the holy bucket with the good ones.
