I have relatives with that attitude. At dinner parties, we used to hold dinner for them.
Not any more. We eat at the designated time. They had the gall to show up late, and complain that we didn't wait, and asked why their hors d'oeuvres didn't get eaten...
...once. Didn't stop them from being late, but stopped the complaining.
Most family gatherings are pot-luck.
They keep asking why they always get assigned dessert...
They're clueless.
