I have an old friend that I was very close to for many years. Our fathers went to high school together so we knew one another as kids. As we got older things progressed to a friends with benefits sort of thing. It was a very comfortable and enjoyable relationship that went on for years. We both married other people, had kids, life got in the way, and we lost touch. Recently we reconnected through FB and I am so disappointed that he is now full on MAGA and conspiracy theorist. I don't know what happened, but then, we didn't spend a whole lot of time talking politics in our teens and twenties.
I am pretty disappointed. He was a good guy who was important in my life for a long time. Now he is someone I wouldn't even want to sit down to lunch with.
