Calling a geologic event overdue is merely stating that it has fallen long of the geologic average for such an event, in a certain area. The Yellowstone caldera is also 'overdue,' having remained quiescent for longer than average. It's still within the longest time frames and showing no indications that any major event is likely, despite a few fear mongering 'what if...' Youtube videos.
