Church that received relic from Padre Pio remains intact amid floods in Spain

According to the parish priest, Fr Fran Martinez, the church has not suffered any damage, something that many consider miraculous. Days before the disaster, the priest and a group of faithful brought a relic of the blood of St. Pius of Pietrelcina to the parish, trusting in his protection.

The community attributes the preservation of the church to the intercession of the saint, who, the parish priest believes, has kept the parish as a “oasis” amid the tragedy that, so far, has killed at least 214 people and left a large yet undetermined number of missing.
