It's not just preaching to the choir, I was interested to see someone explain how this could make sense, and awty gave some explanation.

I guess I was hoping some Christian will explain since they all claim how Bible makes perfect sense, but it seems the only reason why they come to AF these days is to defend Trump.

It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas).
