Christians pretending to being oblivious to what Christianity is.
Wait, isn't Christianity cult of power disguised as religion?
Seriously, when was Christianity message of love? Especially about loving the LGBTQ people? Yeah, they want to love gays by "healing" them from homosexuality. Or "embrace the stranger" - you mean make the stranger give up their religion and culture and embrace your version of Christianity.
You could say the same about the Catholics. Not to mention that Jesus is also defined by vengeance and self-interest. What do you think he built hell for if not vengeance?
Yeah, just like Christianity did in the medieval times and is still striving to be like that.
Um, hello. That is what Christianity was always about. Can you name me one example where Christians were like, "Oh, what a nice religion you have. And what a nice set of gods you believe in. Now go and worship those gods in peace and have the religion you want because I totally respect that"?
Or the control about identities. Does anyone think real Christians don't want to control other people's identities? As if they go around and say, "Oh, you identify as a woman, sure, I don't want to control that because I respect that."
Jesus did say he is bringing a sword to divide people.
Hey, don't blame this on secularism. So much for loving your neighbor.

Quote:A faith hijacked by hate: Why MAGA Christians are a cult of power disguised as religion
In their world, Christianity is not a message of love but a weapon of division. It is not a call to serve the poor, embrace the stranger, or turn the other cheek. Instead, it has become a banner under which they justify their anger toward immigrants, LGBTQ individuals, racial minorities, and anyone who challenges the dominance of the “White” race.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
