This is the main reason I wanted to know if the OP was Sunni or Shia. Sunni usually try to make Aisha as young as possible because it's then more miraculous that she was able to transmit the Quran. Shia tend to estimate her as considerably older (as old as 20, I think), since they believe the faith was transmitted through Mohammed's step-cousin Ali. It would be interesting if a Sunni took the position that she was older, kind of expected from a Shia.
