The idiot in cheif doesn't care about trade or whether or not it's zero sum, this isn't a trade thing. The tariffs are there to make industry go trump or go broke. To make them seek an exemption by currying favor. If the protction racket tanks the economy, even better! Don the Con will run the same play with bailouts for those he deems too big to fail.
