Red states have been investing heavily in their education system - as a result some of the poorest states in the nation such as Mississippi and Louisiana have surged in national rankings, with Mississippi ranked #1 in 4th grade reading - surging from bottom of the nation just 2 decades ago. On top of this modernized testing that accounts for a students ability to develop concepts based off of pre-learned knowledge rather than repeat memorized answers as well as destroying the powers of teacher unions to protect poor teachers and pedophiles.

On the flip side, states like California and New York - which invest hundreds of billions of dollars into their education each year - have seen steady drops in ratings year after year after year.

So, that out of the way... go ahead and take a look at the graph above. Are you sure it's those "Republicans" that are the issue with Southern test scores? Are you *sure* you want to commit to that point? 

Just know who you are calling stupid.

Do you know the demographic breakdown of the South, btw? It seems like you people think it's only whites here... we are the largest and amongst the most diverse cultural regions in the United States and interact with groups outside of our own far more than in more ethno-homogenous Democrat communities outside of Chicago, New York and California.
