Turning 90, Dalai Lama plans to reincarnate in order spite China who plans to fight his upcoming reincarnation.
My guess is that Lama appointed Richard Gere to find his reincarnation since Gere was present at his 90th birthday, sitting right behind him and cuddling with him like a dog.

Dalai Lama is no fool so he'll reincarnate in the USA with already connections to the CIA and Pentagon, thus helping Tibetans not only win over the Chinese, but also establish the Greater Tibet.
Quote:The elderly Dalai Lama assured followers on Wednesday that upon his death he would be reincarnated as the next spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism and spelt out a succession process that sets up a renewed clash with China.
Dalai Lama said a non-profit institution he has set up will have sole authority to identify his reincarnation, countering China's insistence that it will choose his successor.
Beijing reiterated on Wednesday that it had to approve the reincarnation and that it had to be done in China through a centuries-old ritual.
The Dalai Lama has said his successor will be born outside China and urged his followers to reject anyone chosen by Beijing. In previous years, he had also said it was possible that there might be no successor at all.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
