That's a big if. Christianity isn't based on human sacrifice. Jesus was, if you believe this sort of thing, the son of God which makes him at best only half-human. But actually, the argument goes that Jesus was God incarnate. Christianity, then, is actually based on God sacrificing some part of himself.
And even then it's not just a simple nail-me-to-the-cross sacrifice. It's a redeeming sacrifice. Which means that God actually bought something on behalf of all mankind. The price he paid was sacrifing some part of himself. What is it that he bought? Eternal life for all those who want it.
For something to be a sacrifice, there must be someone who gives something of value and someone who recieves or accepts it.
In sacrificing Jesus/God to Jesus/God, what was lost to one and gained by another?
Quote:The foundations of Christianity are often misunderstood.
They are understood and rejected by many. Knowing of all the sects out there, it seems that many within Christianity do not have a clue.
Have a look at the foundations of one sect while remembering that all the sects were formed basically the same way.

Quote:As for morality and ethics. If God buys something for you and wants to give it to you as a free gift, what's wrong with that? Dont you like buying gifts for your loved ones? I wish someone would buy something for me, like Enigma's latest CD. Enigma's really sexy. Try shagging to it sometime.
Gifts are bought or given to please the receiver and answer their desires and not the desires of the giver. Using your example, you would like an Enigma C D and not a Pink Floyd one. The buyer would serve your desires and not his own even if the P F CD was on sale. Right?
Are you saying you desired that an innocent man should die for you? If not, then God would not offer it. Right?
