Have you actually bothered to read their new privacy agreement? It changes hardly anything; one might argue it actually makes things easier to understand, because instead of agreeing to an individual statement for each Google service you use (under the same account I might add), you only agree to one.
Sure, you could switch to an entirely new search engine, or instead you could simply opt to not use a Google account. Don't sign in, and you can use Google without them tracking anything other than your IP (the logs of which they destroy after 9 months I believe).
