Quote:The bible was meant to be just as it is. God put some contradictions, evil doings, and stories deliberately in the bible in order to make the believers find out themselves as to what is right and what is wrong. God put up the challenge to the real believers to identify these "hidden and deliberate wrongs" in the bible so that they can distinguish between the good and the bad. Only the true believers will have this ability to fully decode the bible.
This from my local church preacher, published in one of the dailies in my locality. I have heard some really idiotic statements, but this goes below the standard of absurd theist claims.
Pastors especially need to sell this bull shit cause their very existence depends on it. Ironically, they are the very false prophets that their bible warns of.
I try so hard to keep an open mind about the intelligence of christians; trying desperately to remember that there are a handful that have brains in their heads .... but they continually make it so god damn hard to keep that up. Every time I make a little headway, I hear something like this and then it's right back to square one.
Square one: "jesus-tapdancing-christ! Christians are a bunch of fucking idiots."
