You wouldn't believe how incredibly common this "argument" is. Nearly every single christian I've talked to uses this line as their excuse for people going to hell who had never even heard of Jesus. "Well, the bible says even the rocks cry out, so they had the opportunity to know god through nature."
One of the only times I've seen a christian back away from this line is when I'm talking to a Universalist.

I have studied the Bible and the theology behind Christianity for many years. I have been to many churches. I have walked the depth and the breadth of the religion and, as a result of this, I have a lot of bullshit to scrape off the bottom of my shoes. ~Ziploc Surprise
