In the Old Testament the God of Abraham made it perfectly clearly that heathens are to be actively sought out and killed without mercy. And this God also instructs people to kill the wives and children of the heathens as well.

Can you quote the verses?

Deut.13
[1] If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
[2] And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
[3] Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
[4] Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
[5] And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he hath spoken to turn you away from the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust thee out of the way which the LORD thy God commanded thee to walk in. [9] But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.

[11] And all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wickedness as this is among you.
[12] If thou shalt hear say in one of thy cities, which the LORD thy God hath given thee to dwell there, saying,
[13] Certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which ye have not known;
[14] Then shalt thou inquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought among you;
[15] Thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.
[16] And thou shalt gather all the spoil of it into the midst of the street thereof, and shalt burn with fire the city, and all the spoil thereof every whit, for the LORD thy God: and it shall be an heap for ever; it shall not be built again.
[17] And there shall cleave nought of the cursed thing to thine hand: that the LORD may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers;

We are instructed to hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, to do that which is right in the eyes of the LORD thy God.

We have just been instructed to seek out heathens who would turn us away from the Biblical God (or Jesus in the case of Christians) or to even teach these things (as the Jews clearly do). The Jews teach that Jesus was not the Holy Son of God. So they are heathens whom we are commanded to seek out and kill by the commandment of God The LORD ALMIGHTY.

It's right there in the bible.

Jesus taught, "Not one jot, nor one tittle shall pass from law until heaven and Earth pass".

Well, that's the law of the God of Abraham. We are to seek out heathens who teach against God (and for a Christian Jesus is God), and kill them and level their cities and burn them to the ground.

So technically, Hitler was only following the commandments of the biblical God and obeying the teachings of Jesus who taught that not one jot nor one tittle shall pass from law.

Don't confuse this to mean that I personally believe that Hitler was obeying God and that this is what some God would actually expect us to do.

I'm just pointing out that these utterly absurd fables can very easily be interpreted to support this very kind of madness.

I'm personally convinced that the biblical fables have no more merit than the fables of Greece.

It's absurd to me that a supposedly benevolent God would have ever instructed people to do these things at any time. What about his commandment "Thou Shalt not Kill"?

How can he instruct people that they shouldn't kill, and then turn right back around and demand that they obey his commandments to seek out and kill heathens?

The whole collection of fables is a collection of absurd contradictions and can't possibly be the "word" of any God. It's far too inconsistent.

It necessarily has to be nothing more than man-made myths. Obviously, in many cases its just an attempt to rally people to war in the name of a God.

That's all this is. It's just the history of a culture that used a God as an excuse to rally people to murder "heathens" (i.e. anyone who rebelled against the religious cult that was the focal point of governmental and political power in those days.

Hitler could make a perfectly legitimate argument that heathens should be killed using Deuteronomy and the words of Jesus (Not one jot nor one tittle shall pass from law).

1. Deuteronomy has God commanding us to seek out heathens and kill them.
2. Jesus demands that not one jot nor one tittle shall pass from law.

That's a sufficient argument for any Christian to run out and start killing heathens.

This is precisely why this religion is so frigg'in dangerous

People like Hitler can use it to rally Christian support.

Witch burners can use it to rally Christian support and they clearly did!

The list goes on.

Today people use Jesus to badger and condemn same-gender loving relationships in the name of God and his demigod Son Jesus.

The hatred never stops. It just changes focus from one era to another.
