Some time, in the future, life on this planet will cease to exist. Sorry, I can't give any more details than that at this time.
I do have to wonder about the mindset of those who obsess about the end of the world. I mean, are their lives so crappy that they wish the entire world would be destroyed? Or are they waiting for the end of the world so they can get to heaven and finally try alcohol, sex, drugs, and all that other stuff they're forbidden from enjoying here on Earth?
Obsession with heaven could be interpreted as a de-valuation of this world based on a hatred of life. Dreams of the end times accompanied by feelings of happiness could be seen as wish fulfilment in the form of revenge against life and the world. So yes, a person who hates this world enough to be obsessed with a "better" world beyond this one is often miserable in this life. This is the Nietszchean argument."Religion is the opium of the masses" as Marx said.
