You're nearly right as I too have been having visions for years. You've misinterpreted this visitor as an Angel because of your deeply religious views. He is in fact an ambassador from a more advanced and spiritual race (so, sort of an angel I guess) who is gently preparing the human race for it's next evolutionary and spiritual leap where we make contact properly for the first time and are welcomed into the Galactic Federation as, unfortunately, very minor and protected members. But hey, at least we get to be part of something much bigger.
