There is a reason it is age old...it's valid. I never suggested you should click through 4 years of posts; I suggested that there was no reason to repost something just because new people might have not seen it. Instead, use the search feature, and if someone has posted it before, add a new post on their thread and it'll go right to the top of "New Posts".
We don't delete old threads, as some forums might. Having three copies of the same bloody thing is not going to help database efficiency.
