I'm just trying to illustrate that the whole thing is, as you say, a story, and the only way we can know anything at all about Jesus, God and all the rest of it is from that story. You don't worship a god, you worship a book; and a startlingly poorly-written one at that. In other words, you could just as easily get your guidance or whatever from Star Wars - it does at least have the benefit of a coherent plot and engaging characters. So why do you identify as a xtian instead of a Yodarian?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
