If he happily did it for Thomas the Apostle then why shouldn't he be able to easily do it for all mankind and end the discussion about his existence once and for all?
The argument was not about the Bible being true, it was about Jesus claiming to be the Son of God in the scriptures.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
