The most interesting part of this discussion is the implication of contrary unification. They all speak the word of God, but they all assume the others have some of it wrong, but its all God's work, which implies God doesn't really give two tugs of a dead dogs cock what you actually believe.
Not "others have it wrong" to one degree or another all have it wrong. Therefore we are live and work under the same unifying grace that is given when we sin. If their is grace and atonement when we willfully sin, how much more will grace abound when we praise and worship to the limits of our understanding and ablity to do so?

I decided that was a good time to bring up the question of why there's so many denominations. They told me if it doesn't line up with the Word of God then they're incorrect. That's the point though... all 37 000 denominations claim it is what the Word means.
After that discussion was over, the guy next to me starts by saying, 'anyways, I wanted to raise a point about what we read tonight. I have to disagree with what you (the group leader) said'. I cringed.
EDIT: other noteworthy fails of the night:
1) Me: so did John actually die a martyr? My other friend says he did.
Guy: Yes!
Me: oh, so when he was chucked in oil that's when he died?
Guy: no, the oil didn't even burn him at all
Me: oh.. so the last attempt to kill him wasn't when he died? So he didn't die a martyr but a natural death?
Guy: yeah.
Me: *about to laugh in a jokingly manner... realises through face expression his line of argument was serious*.....
Me: *hesitation* So..... he didn't die a martyr?
Guy: well, sort of.
Me:...........................
2) Group leader: guys, we are reading the Gospels of the good news. That's what they are.
Me: *facepalm*....
Me: is their a question?
