The atheist can't know what? I honestly don't now what you are on about here, it doesn't seem to connect in an obvious way to the post you quote. Many atheists have "read the Bible", or so they keep assuring me.
I am sure an atheist can know everything there is to know about mainstream Christianity. I've never personally met an atheist who knew so much (I don't! I sometimes feel as if I could study for a whole lifetime and only scratch the surface...), but it is certainly possible.
I apologize if my tone sounds arrogant at all, I'll try even harder to emulate Our Lady's pure humility. Though perhaps even saying that I am capable of such a thing is "arrogance" itself!
Mary Immaculate, star of the morning
Chosen before the creation began
Chosen to bring for your bridal adorning
Woe to the serpent and rescue to man.
Sinners, we honor your sinless perfection;
Fallen and weak, for your pity we plead;
Grand us the shield of your sovereign protection,
Measure your aid by the depth of our need.
Bend from your throne at the voice of our crying,
Bend to this earth which your footsteps have trod;
Stretch out your arms to us, living and dying,
Mary Immaculate, Mother of God.
