The Muslims reject the triune god for the sensible reason that it makes no sense. My observation is that few Christians understand the sophistry used to justify the belief. I never have.As with most problematic Church doctrine,the response was "it's a mystery of the faith,you just have to believe". Other times the explanation was so fatuous,I had trouble swallowing it even at age 12 .EG.The doctrine of Limbo,where unbaptised babies go, (since quietly dropped) the doctrine of original sin. However, my favourites are the arguments for papal succession from Saint Peter and papal infallibility. The Catholic church has some wonderfully original interpretations of scripture not shared by the rest of Christendom.
