That's fine Drich, we don't all get all the superpowers (I'd say that no one gets any of them, and I'd be right, but hey, whatever), but that passage does not imply or suggest that the superpowers listed as belonging to those that believe are not given to them.
You've offered an empty excuse.
So long as you argue against one passage by way of another you are eroding the credibility of one or both passages, period, whether you believe so or not.
That's assuming that the reader thinks you actually know wtf you are talking about, which I do not, so it might be more appropriate to point to the way you are eroding your own credibility.
