The first thing you have to do is lose the idea that "Abraham" is any more real than the rest of the bullshit.

Indeed,or that Abraham was espousing one God. He was not. Judaism was not completely monotheistic until after the seventh century BCE.

I believe in reason. Just because I despise the Christian religion, I won't blindly refute it.

No one is suggesting you blindly refute anything. Rather,it is being suggested you demand actual proof.So far there is none. Many scholar today believe it is most likely Abraham is myth,like most of the Torah.

PS; The word 'pagan' is from the Latin 'paganus' and simply means country dweller/rustic. (a bit like calling somebody a bumpkin or a redneck). The correct term for Sumerian religions is 'polytheist'
