In answer to your homework page's alleged unfulfilled prophecies,
A. Ezekiel 37:26-28 says "I will put my sanctuary among them forever" and "My dwelling place will be with them". This is a prophecy of the Holy Spirit. As Paul in 1 Corinthians 3:16 asks, "Don't you know that you yourselves are God's temple and that God's Spirit lives in you?"
B. Isaiah 43:7 specifies "everyone who is called by my name," meaning not just the Jews. This is an end times prophecy, once Christ returns to separate the sheep (believers) from the goats (unbelievers).
C. Isaiah 2:4 is taken out of context. Isaiah 2:2 says, “In the last days the mountain of the LORD’s temple will be established as chief among the mountains; it will be raised above the hills, and all nations will stream to it.” Also end times. Where does it mention the Messiah?
D. In a clearer translation, Zechariah 14:9 states, “The LORD will be king over the whole earth. On that day there will be one LORD, and his name the only name.” Nothing is said about the unification of mankind. God will rule, that’s it. End times.
The problem with this page is it groups apocalyptic prophecies with messianic prophecies. Jews believe they are one and the same—that the Messiah will set up an earthly, physical kingdom over the entire world and that will be the end of all strife. Instead, Jesus had a job to do. With his death, he took the punishment for our sins. His life and sacrifice show us how to love. His resurrection promises victory. As Jesus in John 12:32 says, “And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.” He predicted the way he would die (lifted up on a cross) and what would be the result. Not only does Jesus fulfill over 350 OT prophecies, but his humble message is just what we would not expect.
