You're only stupid if you choose to reject all reasonable evidence to the contrary, which you obviously didn't. You can't really help what you're born into. You're getting out of that place now, which is great, but like anything it's a transition and it won't necessarily be easy. Don't doubt yourself, you're headed in the direction of enlightenment.
