Shit, I've even been straight out insulted by people in my extended family about the topic. I still smile and nod. Fuck it. Life is too short to fight with people I care about. A stranger? You can guaranfuckingtee I'm not going to be quiet about it. Some dickhead was at hempfest this year telling everyone how the world was going to end. I laughed at him and handed him back his pamphlet.
That's the difference between us, I just can't go along with it.
Saw this gorgeous woman's profile, and in her bio she had put "thank the lord this", and "thank Jebus that". Could of contacted her but walked away, I guess her insanity scared me off a bit. There is no way I could fake belief. Not even for a lover.
There has never been a conflict, seeing as everyone here tends to be non-religious anyway. It's just that I cannot pretend to agree with someone's insanity.

Mankind's intelligence walks hand in hand with it's stupidity.
Being an atheist says nothing about your overall intelligence, it just means you don't believe in god. Atheists can be as bright as any scientist and as stupid as any creationist.
You never really know just how stupid someone is, until you've argued with them.
