Of course that's possible, but I think unlikely. Sweden would lose international credibility. I guess it would depend on the quid pro quo/blackmail from America. Right now,it seems Sweden does not extradite people [to other countries] for political or military crimes or where they may face the death penalty.
I have no reason to think that Sweden has acted other than in good faith. I do not know enough about either English or international law to comment on the behaviour of the British government. (apart from the bleedin' obvious; it will act as governments always do;from self interest))
