Tangent:
Pardon my ignorance, but where/what/who is an Ann Arbor?
The name suggests a bunch of things,EG the name of a founding mother,so perhaps new England,a place where they grow a lot of trees,so California, a typical American version of something which began as English,'an harbour,' perhaps New York, or it could just be his mum's name.
For those laughing at my ignorance; try to find MY city,Adelaide,(South Australia) on a map. Could be a challenge, most Americans think Australia is part of Europe.
