For the Book Worms
#11
RE: For the Book Worms
Here's a list of non-fiction I found particularly interesting. Only a few of the are "dry" - most of these have a pleasant, engaging type of language that makes them easy to get through and provide much food for thought.

A History of the World in 6 Glasses

Denialism: How Irrational Thinking Hinders Scientific Progress, Harms the Planet, and Threatens Our Lives

Bonk: The Curious Coupling of Science and Sex

The Botany of Desire

A World Lit Only By Fire: The Medieval Mind and the Renaissance (This book did it for me in a huge way)

Mornings on Horseback (Incredible biography of Teddy Roosevelt and his family)

Freakonomics (Absolutely fascinating look into culture and statistics)

Blink (Impossible to sum up - hit the link)

Some of my next books I'm going to get to:

Uncommon Grounds: The History Of Coffee And How It Transformed Our World

In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto

Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers

Dirty Minds: How Our Brains Influence Love, Sex, and Relationships

I think Epimethean suggested these next two to me:
Transforming Matter: A History of Chemistry from Alchemy to the Buckyball

Moonwalking with Einstein: The Art and Science of Remembering Everything
