I agree with you. If you are not into the culture of Christianity, it would be wrong to expect you to practise the religion. That is why I always think it's wrong for people to preach their religion to others. Religion is so personal and it depends on so many factors such as family and culture. I can also understand how some people drop out of a religion. They feel that it's closely tied to the belief part. Most fundies in America work this way. The moment you grow out of the belief, they axe you. Or they'll tell you you're not a Christian so you're compelled to leave the church.

Me, the family even friends of mine never had anything to do with religion/the church. The church did try to push me into Christianity but failed. The only time I went to church was on a school trip. It was the last time I stepped foot into a church.
I've made it perfectly clear that I don't believe in any of that, dismissed it all as a load of bollocks. Pushed religion/church out completely.
I was brought up in a secular family/society, religion is never mentioned, unless we talk about all the shit believers spout and acts of religious hatred being committed.

Atheism simply means without theism. Without belief in god. That's why there is an 'A' in front of the word 'theism'. It means 'without'.
