Do you want the short or the long answer(?).
My long answer is: 2012 is a movie and there is not any evidence whatsoever that I know of that the world is really going to end in specifically 2012. However whether it will ever end is another matter. It then depends on how you define "World". If by "World" you mean, Earth - our planet - or the world as perceived by us humans, then I'd say the Earth will eventually expire, and the human race won't last forever (unless we invent the ability to become absolutely invincible and indestructible to everything or something!). If on the other hand by "World" you mean the universe that we live in, then I'd say I don't know. I don't know if the universe will ever end.

Or to give a slightly longer one than that: "I highly doubt it. Why would it? There's no actual evidence that it will."
I'm not absolutely sure that it won't end then in 2012 though; because I'm almost certain that I cannot absolutely know that it won't - because I cannot absolutely prove the negative that it necessarily won't happen ( because proving a negative is a logical fallacy).
But to clarify, let's just say that...very certain indeed!!
