The thing about childish questions is that children usually cut straight to whatever truth may be at the heart of the matter without any of the preconceptions and misconceptions that come with age. That's what makes them so awkward to those who have no truth and know it.
I've had a youth group and I know exactly what kind of questions can come from young people, especially those who know scripture. The questions asked by Brakeman did not come from a knowledge of scripture, they came from the same sad places that so many questions come from atheist, ignorance and a deluded sarcastic mind.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
