Yes, there are multiple definitions of caring, but I wasn't sure which one you were using.
Furthermore, I think the idea that you responded out of "sheer apathy" was being utilized in the first place because the definition you were using was being switched for an alternative one for humourous reasons. I could be wrong. I myself intuitively have a sense of what you mean, but I am still somewhat unsure precisely which definition you are using because many of them are very similar, I think.
I don't know why you think I was counseling you or, if it's a joke, I don't know what is exactly funny about it.
