So, how are your conservative friends taking it?

Twitter, I love you so much because when people say something really stupid, you broadcast it so we can all see it. Case in point, Kristen Neel was upset Obama won the election. She said she wants to move to Australia because "their president is a Christian and actually supports what he says.'' The problem with that statement? 3 things, specifically:

1) Australia doesn't have a president at all; they have a prime minister. Small difference, I know, but it's there.

2) Australia's prime minister isn't a man, it's a woman

and

3) Their prime minister isn't Christian; Julia Gillard is an atheist.

We will likely have a devout Catholic Male Prime Minister in a year. Because the current prime minister’s party has not been terribly popular for two years now.

Anyway I did read that somewhere and thought either Kristen Neel is extremely thick or having a piss as we like to say in Australia.

Our head of state is Queen Elizabeth II, the head of the Church of England. Her proxy in Australia is governor general Quentin Bryce (who is also a woman). I am not sure if Kristen would like to live in a constitutional monarchy, not to mention a nation where we have openly gay judges and politicians. Also I believe if Kristen Neel had been born in Australia, she would be an ardent Monarchist and think Australia becoming a republic would be a disaster.
