I just knew you would say that. All I'm asking for is one verse that supports your claim. I have been good about providing the verses for my arguments, yet you, a devout theist, cannot even provide a single one. Well, I guess I should just assume you made it up, right?
Let's look at the facts here:
Judges 1:19
The Lord was with the men of Judah. They took possession of the hill country, but they were unable to drive the people from the plains, because they had chariots fitted with iron.
(bolding added)
There is the reason; it says why they couldn't do it right in the text. It wasn't god's anger; god simply couldn't stop those chariots.
We know what god's wrath looks like:
Judges 2:10-15
Losing one battle while winning many others is not a sign of god's anger. If it is, then the victories in the surrounding battles should be seen as an even greater contradiction to god's omnipotence. And, if you say that god simply abandoned them to let things play out naturally, please note
Judges 1:1-2
After the death of Joshua, the Israelites asked the Lord, “Who of us is to go up first to fight against the Canaanites?”
2 The Lord answered, “Judah shall go up; I have given the land into their hands.”
and
Judges 1:19
The Lord was with the men of Judah. They took possession of the hill country, but they were unable to drive the people from the plains, because they had chariots fitted with iron.
