Obviously it isn't. The underlying basis for sin and morality, in Biblical terms, are the ancient bigotries and prejudices of bronze-age shepherds in Israel. Which, for some insane reason, continue to persist long after everybody should know better.

Of course I remember, and that is the hypocrisy of it. God condemns Sodom for not caring about the poor and needy, but he does not spare those poor and needy when it's killing time.
