Maybe the reason that he had to leave after rising from the dead... is that he didn't rise from the dead!! And the reason that he has not returned sooner is that he is dead... It kind of sucks. But it does make sense.
When you think about it there was no reason to leave shortly after rising from the dead. Think of how much more effective it would have been if he had made public appearances and taught AFTER rising from the dead! Now that would have really been something.
The crucified Jesus has risen from the dead and is continuing to teach, and help people!!!!
But now the story of him only appearing to a few key people and then flying off to heaven on a chariot... sounds a little contrived... Like somebody stole the body from the tomb and made up a story.

Poor Jesus was a virgin... Maybe in is second coming God will be a little less restrictive and let him have sex with women. At least one woman!!!!!
I've been giving this a lot of deep thought lately and I'm a little concerned. Jesus is supposed to return on a white horse and lead a war. Think about that. Think about how much it would suck if you got killed by Jesus. That is like a double damn! Or think about what it would be like to be on the wrong side and fighting to protect the life of your wife and kids -- against 'God'.... And how can you kill him??? That would really really suck!
So here is what I propose. I say that we intercept Jesus when he makes this second coming on his white horse. And I say that we take him to Las Vegas and get him laid.
