I think the issue of white horse is red herring lol , who knows but my interpretation is that its symbolic and the white horse shows Christ coming in the second phase and role of Messiah, ie in kingship displaying his full power and his intention of using it. As to why not sooner, again I do not posses the capacity to create even a single molecule from nothing so how can I even come close to understanding the Creator of the Cosmos in its vastness in space and time. Just as a fish being rescued out of a drying up pool in a drought will struggle and suffer in the hands of its rescuer and won't understand that it is being relocated into a lake bigger than it could ever imagine, we can feel the same when something so much more advanced than us moves us from the finite to the infinite.
